Our Story

About 61 Orange

A home that quietly opens its doors to one guest a night, where every dinner is a shared experience.

How It All Started

In 2022, Chef Nathaniel "Nats" Imson and his partner Ethel Sy acquired a beautiful mid-century home on Orange Street in Concepcion Dos, Marikina City. Along with the house came its original furniture, vintage artifacts, and a history tucked within the mismatched rooms and velvet chairs.

Rather than renovating everything, they embraced the home's character. The house became the canvas, and Chef Nats' decades of culinary expertise became the medium. What started as intimate dinners for friends gradually became 61 Orange — a private find dining destination where you really have to find them to dine.

They call it "find dining" because 61 Orange is not a full-blown restaurant. It is a home that quietly opens its doors to just one booked guest a night, with private dinners served in the couple's dining room, right beside the open kitchen where Chef Nats prepares and personally presents each course.

A Mid-Century Time Capsule

Walking into 61 Orange feels like entering a time capsule from the 1960s or early 1970s. The interiors feature velvet chairs, mid-century sideboards, retro lamps with warm amber glow, patterned curtains, and colorful cutlery.

Wooden walls are lined with memorabilia and vintage decor — from a Dada poster featuring Elvis to a retro clock that still ticks. A bar cabinet fashioned from an old television set holds bottles of wine, and a Marshall speaker sits beside a vintage typewriter.

Everything here is from the era — some pieces dating back to 1962. The terrazzo floors, the wrought-iron gate, the floating wooden staircase. It is all part of what makes dining at 61 Orange feel less like a reservation and more like a curated event.
